It’s no secret that Capcom has been giving the Blue Bomber quite a bit of attention lately; from the virtual releases of Mega Man 9 and 10 to new spin-off series like Star Force and ZX, they’ve even released a compilation on the Nintendo DS of the Game Boy Advance’s Zero series, some of their most challenging entries to date.

So, what do these long-time developers have in store for loyal fans now?  None other than a new Mega Man game, yet again to be released virtually via the X-Box Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

What was that?  Mega Man in a game with Ryu, Arthur, and…creepy, old, Asian Mega Man from the Mega Man 1 box?  Yeah, I’m just as clueless as you are.  According to a few recent interviews with developers, it has been said that the game will be retaining a similar classic, 8-bit feel, much like that of 9 and 10.  Once again…dammit, Capcom.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m one of the biggest Mega Man fans I’ve ever encountered and I couldn’t respect his roots more, but it’s 2010 and while I’m not asking for a 3D rendition of our favorite helmeted hero, I’d at least like to see something produced with a graphical style similar to say…Mega Man 8.  I’m all for 2D sprites, but can’t we modernize it at least a little bit?  Either way, I’m sure it’ll shape up to be a game worth playing, and judging by that clip, quite an interesting one to boot.
